Learning Outcomes
This course aims to familiarize students with the framework and axons of research in Pedagogical Psychology as well as for issues regarding the impact of the environment in shaping individual’s personality. Moreover to know and understand key issues related to learning as well as the children’s and adolescent’s development in basic education. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: • Design and implement a Physical Education program based on the needs, abilities and expectations of students of the age groups targeted • Be able to fulfill his/her future work as a Physical Education Teacher effectively, qualitatively and reliably regardless of the level of education.

Course Content (Syllabus)
1. Definition, basic concepts, objects and methods of Pedagogical Psychology 2. Theoretical and Practical connection of Pedagogical Psychology with Education 3. Τhe sense of development in Psychology: the effects of inheritance and development (definition, stages and phases of development, approach of the question “born or become”, definition of genotype and phenotype, theoretical models that answering the question) 4. Cognitive development-intelligence: nature of intelligence, evolutionary models, tests, assessments and cultivation of intelligence 5. Social and emotional development: Theories, connection with educational process regarding crisis management in the classroom 6. Moral development: theories, connection with educational process and suggestions that support it in order to confront violence within the school 7. The teacher, the student and the classroom as a social team 8. Learning (general clues, definitions of basic meanings regarding learning, learning factors, learning process) 9. Learning theories Part One Cooperative learning theories (Learning with addiction dependency, trial and error learning, functional dependence) 10. Learning theories Part Two (Social-cognitive learning theory, imitation learning, identification learning) 11. Motivation in learning and performance in education 12. Teaching, learning and exams: Prosecution, basic parameters and process effectiveness. Individual and team problematic behavior-that perturb the smooth development of pedagogical processes- and the dealing of them 13. Summary

Student Assessment
Optional work in the field of Pedagogical Psychology in the middle of the semester (20%) and writing final exams (80% or 100% for those who did not carried out their assignment) with short answer questions. The criteria are mentioned in the Department’s Study Guide and are further communicated to the students in the first lesson.
