Course Content (Syllabus)
The course begins with the introduction of students to the protection of the environment and the presentation of current environmental legislation. Following that, the fundamental principles of sustainable development are discussed, along with techniques for researching and utilizing environmental data.
The course proceeds with the presentation of methods for identifying, analysing, investigating, and mitigating or addressing environmental impacts in various sectors. Examples include impacts on the management of liquid and solid waste, ports, coastal engineering, and other hydraulic projects, geotechnical, structural, and transportation projects. Finally, an extensive presentation is given on the impacts of projects on ecosystems, specifically on flora and fauna.
Students are required to prepare concise studies on the environmental impacts of various projects. The presentation of these works to their fellow students contributes to the promotion of teaching through peer education.
