Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course, students are expected to:
• Understand the fundamental principles of the basic Etchings techniques, like Hard Ground and Aquatint, by participating in projects of line and tonal etching on zinc/copper/steel plates or on any other compatible substrate using specialised acids and tools.
• Be confident to execute a series of single and multiple-plate b&w and colour prints on specialised etching papers.
• Identify the metaplastic capabilities of intaglio etching as far as it concerns the conception and manipulation of an image, on the basis of developing a distinctive fine art vocabulary.
• Be familiar with the printing processes and understand the right use of relevant workshop equipment and Intaglio tools.
• Understand the concept and the notion of the multiple and the significance of image reproduction by running small size print-editions.
• Get inducted to health & safety matters and workshop safety guidelines, as far as it concerns, individual use of specific tools and equipment.

Course Content (Syllabus)
In this course students get introduced further on the aesthetics of Printmaking through lectures. They get inducted into Etching processes through a series of scheduled workshop projects which are based on drawing studies of observation as well as visual memory.

Description
Views are realized for the teaching of the course, usage of different design programs via the P.C.
It is proposed to visit via internet big galleries, museums, etc.
With controlled access of the students that are interested in using the computers that are in the Laboratory (1st floor of the Laboratory).
The students use the e-mail as a direct means of communication and have access to the announcements of the laboratory, that are posted in the website of the Faculty.
