Learning Outcomes
Students' familiarization with the fundamental concepts and methodology of contemporary problematic, in the field of folk dance creation, with examples of application from Greece. The learning of dances from various regions of Greece. The learning and applying of the basic principles of teaching Greek traditional dance.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Students' initiation in Greek dancing tradition and familiarization with the rhythms and kinetic expressive means of Greek tradition. • The learning of dances from dippartments of mainland Greece (Macedonia, Thrace, Epirus, Thessaly, Peloponnese). • The learning of dances from Greek islands (Aegean islands, Ionian islands, Crete). • The learning of dances from areas of origin of Greekw (Pontos, Eastern Romylia).

Course Organization
Student Assessment
The assessment is based on students' regular and active participation in the course (20%), and oral and practical exams at the end of the semester (80%). The criteria are mentioned in the Department's Study Guide and are communicated to the students in the first lesson.
