The students • To further enrich / deepen their knowledge regarding the Greek traditional dance, as well as the principles of learning and applying the methodological principles in its teaching. • To deepen in the form and structure of the Greek Traditional Dance. • To study the contribution of Greek traditional dance in the education and its relation to traditional and modern society.

Course Content (Syllabus)
• Analysis of the dance form. Analysis of dance components. Motion analysis and notation. Chorological approach: classification methods, analysis techniques. • Learning dances from geographical dippartments (Asia Minor, Islands of Aegean, Ionion, Cyclades, Crete, Cyprus), and cultural groups (Kappadokes, Pontioi) from Greece.
Greek traditional dance, kinetic expressive means, principles of learning, education.

Student Assessment
The assessment is based on students' regular and active participation in the course (10%), on the presentation of a paper concerning dancing at the end of the semester (30%), and oral, written and practical exams at the end of the semester (60%). The criteria are communicated to the students in the first lesson.
