Learning Outcomes
Students by the end of this course will demonstrate competency in the following areas: 1. Knowledge regarding planning educational programs for students with disabilities attending special or general public schools. 2. To be able to motivate students to participate in exercise and sports 3. Identify areas of exceptionality in learning and indicators of the need for special education services. 4. Demonstrate knowledge to implement their knowledge, skills and attitudes in real life situations 5. to be able to respect the sports achievements of athletes with disabilities. 6. To understand the sports classification. 7. To be able to set coaching goals for athletes with disabilities who participate in Paralympic sports.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Individual Differences and Adapted Physical Education / Activity 1. Movement disability (Spinal Cord Injuries: Basic Concepts, Motor Traits, Course Adaptations, Sports, Games and Activities Adaptations) 2. Intelectual Disability (Nature and Concept, Definition-Reasoning, Labeling, Down Syndrome - Atlantoaxial Instability - Educational Classification, Motor Development - Physical Condition - Exercise Analysis - Special Olympics- exercise programs for young children - exercise programs for severe disability). 3. Developmental Disorders / Developmental Disability of Motor Coordination (Basic Concepts -movement Features- Course Adaptations- Games and Activities Sports Adaptations) 4. Cerebral palsy (basic concepts, motor characteristics, course adaptations, adaptations of sports, games and activities) 5. Amputation (basic concepts, motor characteristics, prosthetic limbs, course adaptations, adaptations of sports, games and activities) 6. Adaptive Dance /Dance Therapy 7. Adaptive swimming / therapeutic swimming / hydrotherapy -teaching models, principles of adapted swimming-swimming as a paralympic sport)

Description
Students in the course of the study will be evaluated a) write a disability project & presentation (20%), b) create instructional cards while attending integrated and segregated schools (20%), c) final exam (60%).
