Learning Outcomes
By the end of the class, students will be able to: To recognise sport and recreation management as a distinct profession and carreer, as well, as the necessary skills and abilities of the sport manager Understand the complexity of the sport and recreation market. To recognise the necessary managerial skills To learm basic sport management functions and practices. To recognise basic sport marketing theories and practices.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The aim of the course is to introduce students to basic sport management theory and practice. Definition and theoretical background of sport and recreation will be presented. An emphasis to the Greek and international sport and recreation market will be given. Basic management functions and managerial skills will be also taught. Specifically, lectures will include: Introduciton to Sport Mangement, Defining the fiend of sport management, structrure of the Greek sport market, human behavior in sports, sport management functions, the sport market and its producst and services, sport marketing

Student Assessment
Description
The final grade in this course is based on the grades achieved in the final examination (70%) along with a midterm (20%) amd a quiz (10%). The last two are electronic tests held in the Department's computer lab.
