4)Are able to use and evaluate simple geothermal drilling results and basic thermometric data (e.g. calculation of geothermal gradients or heat loads etc.)
5)Have a good idea of how geothermal energy can be exploited (basic geothermal uses-available technologies-geothermal monitoring-pros and cons, etc.), and what is the role and contribution of a geologist in a geothermal exploitation project
6)Are familiar with the geothermal status in Greece (geothermal exploration and results/area + major applications), as well as with the most important and innovating applications around the world

In the frame of the course, a one-day field trip takes place in the geothermal fields of Nea Apollonia (Mygdonia Basin) and Therma-Nigrita (Serres Basin).
The field trip includes geologic observations, wellhead temperature measurements and visits to some geothermal applications (spa centers, greenhouses, etc).
