Course Content (Syllabus)
Lectures including demonstration of building materials, their properties and uses, construction methods, the theory of simple structures and implemented examples worldwide in slides.
Exercises on landscape construction drawings, such as site engineering, water engineering, irrigation, drainage, simple structures, exterior lighting and street furniture, as well as exercises on landscape detailing concerning hard and soft landscape, steps and ramps, tree pits, free standing / retaining walls, fences and gates, water features etc.
Light-weight building materials (metals, wood, fabrics, plastics,..)
Space-structures (membranes, inflatable structures, guyed structures, tensegrity systems, folded sheds, polyhedra, shells,..)
Light-weight structures outdoors like, shed for a car, kiosk, small greenhouse, small bridge, park entrance, structures related to - or on a tree, bird cage, cover of an outdoor theatre,..)
