Learning Outcomes
Upon succesfull completion of the course the students should be able to write the electronic configuration of elements and place them within the periodic table elucidate chemical properties of elements based on those of the surrounding ones in the periodic table suggest pH values for electrolyte solutions derive the geometry of small molecules based on the hybridization of their atoms

Course Content (Syllabus)
Atomic structure, periodic properties of the elements, table of periodicity of the elements. Chemical bonding, types of bonds Elements of chemical thermodynamics Acids, bases and salts Oxidation and reduction Chemical composition of the earth, distribution of elements, isotopes Hydrogen, oxygen, water, natural water Description of the properties of the elements in groups.
