Learning Outcomes
Knowledge of the Greek and international scene of the various heretic and para-Christian movements; Information on the history, the teaching and the proselytistic (conversion) manipulations of the various heretic movements; Delimitation of the differences with the Orthodox dogmatic teachings and refutation of the heretic teachings. By the end of this course the students will be able: - to better understand the theological criteria of the Orthodox doctrinal teachings. - to undestand the causes that led to the contemporary heresies. - to interpret the theological presuppositions that led to the heretic teachings. - articulate with clarity theological arguments in the discussion with various christian heresies.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction about hersies.Historical-theological context of the emergence of modern Christian heresies and para- Christian movements.Teaching and refutation of these heresies,on the basis of Tradition and life of the Orthodox Church. 1. Introduction on heresies and para-Christian movements. 2. The historic - dogmatic framework of heresies’ emergence. 3. The origins of the Protestant heresy. 4. Jehovah's Witnesses. 5. Jehovah's Witnesses. (cont’d) 6. The Seventh-Day Adventists. 7. The Pentecostal - Charismatic movement. 8. The Mormons. 9. The Christian Science . 10. Panorama of heresies in Greece. 11.
