Learning Outcomes
By the end of this course the students will be able:
- to understand and explain the theological criteria of Orthodox triadology
- to undestand the causes that led to the anti-trinitatian heresies of the ancient Church
- to interpret the theological presupposition that led to the filioque doctrine
- to explain the hermeneutical principles of Orthodox pneumatology
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course is based on four main points: a) the analysis of the theological presuppositions of the teaching on the Holy Spirit, b) the main position that pneumatology is integral part of triadological doctrine as it is stated in the writings of the most important Fathers of the ancient Church, c) the salvific ministry of the Holy Spirit in the history of divine economy, and d) the filioque doctrine
