It is expected that the students: They will link theory to practice through practice They will understand the importance, purpose and content of modern catechetical teaching They will become acquainted with the design of a catechetic microteaching They will be able, as Church teaching staff, to teach organized groups of children, adolescents and youth (Camp Parishes),the Orthodox Christian faith, with the contribution of modern Pedagogical and Teaching Methodology tools.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course examines issues related to catechism teaching today, its history through the centuries, its necessity in the Church and the way in which teaching of catechism can proceed successfully, taking into account the needs of the christian crew and especially of children and adolescents. It is also examined the modern pedagogical methodology in the teaching of the catechism using ICT 1. Purpose and content of Catechism. A Historical Review 2. The catechism in Greece (past, present and future). 3. Contemporary problems of Catechism and its renewal in the Orthodox tradition. 4. The role of parish and family in Catechism. 5. The role of the teacher in Catechism 6. Catechism in childhood and adolescence 7. Teaching approaches and microteaching design 8. Educational Technology in Catechism.a) Teaching with Presentation Software 9. Educational Technology in Catechism b) Use of WEB 2 10. Project method and Group Collaborative Teaching in Catechism 11. Museum Educational Programs and Social Education in the service of Catechism. 12. Organizing and presentation of a micro-teaching lesson planning by students 13. Presentation of bibliographic or social research projects by students
