Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this course, students, having acquired a general knowledge on the philosophical and ethical views and arguments, as well as the position of orthodox theology regarding the natural environment, will be able to identify the difference between good and problematic arguments and to analyze and compare the arguments of the ecological ethics theories, as well as of specific individuals. They will also be able to compose their own arguments and positions on contemporary issues relating to ecological ethics, and to participate, as theologians, in the discussions for dealing with the deeper causes of the current environmental problems. Finally, those that will work as educators, having digested the whole problematic, will, in turn, be able to present these issues to their students and offer answers from the Christian ethics viewpoint.
