Learning Outcomes
With the successful completion of the course students are in the position of (a) orchestrating piano works and (b) transcribing orchestral works for piano - in the style of the classical period.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course includes the study of
(a) basic (common practice) techniques of orchestration (orchestration of chords, doublings, techniques of orchestrating piano works e.t.c.)
(b) the orchestration practice of the classical period (Haydn, Mozart, early Beethoven).
