Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic repertory of medieval, renaissance and baroque music. • Medieval: virelai, rondeau, ballata etc. • Renaissance: songs for solo voice or ensemble with or without instrumental accompaniment (frottolas, madrigals, chansons, ayres etc) and works for instrumental ensembles. • Baroque: songs for solo voice or ensemble with basso continuo accompaniment (madrigals, arias, cantatas etc) and works for solo instrument or instrumental ensembles with basso continuo accompaniment (sonatas, partitas etc) .
