Learning Outcomes
Cognitive: Training students on key issues of structure and function of terrestrial bio communities. Understanding the impact of factors that shape up, structure and function of each bio community Affective: Awareness through the knowledge of the complex relationships and the adaptation of species inside the terrestrial bio communities Skills: Ability to organise and execute sampling and laboratory analysis in order to assess in a quantitave way the parameters controlling function in a terrestrial ecosystem.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Theory: 1. Abiotic factors in terrestrial ecosystems .2 Terrestrial animals. 3. The exit of animals in the land. 4. Support and movement – Evolution of flight. 5. Respiration on the land 6. Displacement (moving in the landscape) 7.Flora and Vegetation - Greek patterns. 8. Main terrestrial ecosystems of the planet. Laboratory Exercises: 1.Mechanical properties of soil., 2. Chemical and biological soil properties 3.Bioclimatic floors 4. Recognition of characteristic species of soil mesofauna
