Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: To know the characteristics of the language of the individual authors and the language features various secretarial species. To recognize the linguistic loans and the recruitment and use of lexical wealth previous writers. Be aware of the contribution of language in culture and development of thinking. To know the literary and theological skills required for translation and the basic translation principles. To evaluate objectively the existing translations. Be aware of the necessity of translating the one hand and respect towards the original on the other.

Course Content (Syllabus)
They presented specific issues from the language and translation of biblical and patristic texts. These issues may be relevant to certain texts for example the language of Apostle Paul's epistles), some authors for example the language of Gregory Nazianzus) or fixed literary kind (epistolography, hymnography). For the winter semester of 2020 the special issue is "Christian epistolography".
