This course can be chosen form students having finished the fourth semester of their studies
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the course the students are expected to understand -basic principles of the mechanism of musculoskeletal injuries -basic principles of first aid but also the reasoning behind the treatment of orthopaedic injuries -the potential of prevention thru exercise -the therapeutic exercise and rehabilitation potential of exercise following and injury -the optimal time of return to sport following an injury

Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic principles of sport injuries CPR, Head injuries Injuries and musculoskeletal problems of the upper limb (shoulder, elbow, hand) Injuries and musculoskeletal problems of the lower limb (hip, knee, ankle) Injuries in children and veteran athletes Prevention of sport injuries Sport and bone metabolism
