Learning Outcomes
After successful completion of this course, students would be able to understand the techniques/mecanics of basic gymnastics exercises, and they could perform in practice a part of them and apply gymnastics aid modalities. In addition, students will be able to apply various teaching methods for exercises learning.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Theory:
1. Introduction to research methods in gymnastics.
2. Muscle stretching and performance in gymnasts.
3. Gymnastics anthropometry.
4. Gymnastics course organization.
5. Vertical jump performance in gymnasts.
6. Maximal power and lean body mass in gymnasts.
7. Evaluation methods of muscular strength and fatigue.
8. Men’s and women’s gymnastics code of points.
9. Gymnastics injuries.
10. The effect of gymnastics on athletes physical development.
11. Students' measurements and laboratory practice.
12. Analysis of the results of students anthropometric measurements.
13. Plan and training programming in gymnastics.
Practice:
Practice includes performance of exercises in all gymnastics apparatus (Floor Exercise, Balance Beam, Pommel Horse, Still Rings, Vault, Parallel Bars, Horizontal Bar, Uneven Bars), taught in different exercise groups. In particular, practice includes exercises appertaining to the below groups:
1.Push and flight exercises.
2.Flight and twist exercises.
3.Connections of skills.
4.Swing exercises.
5.Kip exercises.
6.Strength exercises.
7.Uprise exercises.
8.Leg circles.
9.Round off vaults.
10.Difficult mounts.
11.Difficult dismounts.
12.Balance beam choreography.
13.Floor exercise choreography.

Description
The final examinations of the semester include the assessment of students in four parts: a) Practice, b) Teaching, c) Theory, and d) Work. Each student is graded with a maximum of 10 from the examination of the four parts and the final grade is one.
In detail, the assessment of theoretical knowledge is done in writing or orally with questions included in the subject matter of the semester. The practical part of the examination is carried out by performing exercises or pre-exercises in all apparatuses taught during the semester. The methodical teaching of the exercises by students, as well as the ways of their assistance and security, are also considered.
