Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to (a) list the main biological substances in the human body and the nutrients in human nutrition, (b) describe the metabolism of nutrients and their use in energy metabolism during exercise, (c) describe the biochemical processes in the nervous and muscular systems that lead to muscle contraction, (d) list the characteristics of a healthy diet, (e) discern the particularities of sport nutrition, (f) distinguish effective from ineffective nutritional ergogenic aids, and (g) evaluate the scientific merit of information related to nutrition and sport nutrition. The course is taught in English and Greek.
