Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course the students: (a) will have acquired a critical and in depth knowledge of the Acts and the NT epistles and the they will be able to describe coherently and clearly the problems that are related to them as well as to suggest solutions (b) will be able to distinguish among the various sources of these texts and to explain their interrelation (c) will be able to discern the particular theological themes and motifs of these texts and to explain their role withing the argumentation of each book (d) will be able to describe the process of reception of main theological themes in each book

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course deals with the redaction history, the interpretation and the theological teaching of the Acts and of the epistles of the New Testament. More concretely, the content of the course will be as follows: 1) Acts of the Apostles: introduction and the discussion about their sources, 2) Paul in the Acts, 3) Aspects of theology of the Book of Acts, 4) History and theology in the Acts, 5) Paul's letters and the previous apostolic tradition, 6) Paul's letters as intertexts, 7) History of research of the Pauline letters, 8) Main aspects of Paul's teaching: Christology and Anthropology, 9) Main aspects of Paul's teaching: Soteriology, Ecclesiology, and Eschatology, 10) Paul's reception in the deutero-Pauline letters, 11) Theological topics in the deutero-Pauline letters, 12) Catholic epistles: the reception of Jesus' teaching and intertextuality, 13) Main theological topics in the Catholic epistles

- Participation in the course meetings and preparation of the assigned material (30% of the final grade) - Written assignment on a topic related to the course. The topics will be announced on the webpage on moodle. The written assignment must conform to the rules of a written essay as they are described in the document that will be uploaded on the webpage on moodle(70% of the final grade)
