Course Content (Syllabus)
Study of the history of Old Testament Interpretation from the 1st to the 15th cent. Principles and methods. 1. Introductory session. Course description. Development and current situation on the field of the History of reception of the Old Testament. 2. Periods of interpretation of the Old Testament (intra-biblical hermeneutics, 2nd Temple, Qumran, apocalyptic literature, N. Testament). 3. Interpretation of the Old Testament in the N. Testament (Gospels) 4. Interpretation of the Old Testament in the N. Testament (St. Paul) 5. Interpretation of the Old Testament in the N. Testament (Catholic epistles- Revelation) 6. Interpretation of the Old Testament in the 2nd-3rd cent. 7. Interpretation of the Old Testament in the 4th-5th cent. I 8. Interpretation of the Old Testament in the 4th-5th cent. II 9. Interpretation of the Old Testament in the 6th-15th cent. 10. Modern instrumenta studiorum of biblical references in patristic hermeneutics 11.
