• Introduction to the basic principles of continuum mechanics • Understanding the need to define constitutive equations • Studying the mechanical behavior of materials • Solving problems using the Python programming language. Emphasis is given in understanding the problem.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Review of continuum mechanics principles (mass and momentum balance, constitutive relations). Introduction to elasticity, viscoelasticity, plasticity. Microstructures: point and line defects (voids, dislocations, cracks). Classical tests analysis: tension, torsion, bending. Creep-relaxation. Fatigue. Diffusion. Nanotechnology applications.
