Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course the student is expected to: - be able to import and format experimental data on Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and to edit and present them in graphs - be familiar with Microsoft Excel and SPSS in data analysis and evaluation - implement statistical case tests on a sample, between two or more samples (ANOVA) and between multiple sample groups (MANOVA) to determine statistically significant differences and correlations - understand the least squares theory and apply linear and non-linear curve adjustment (regression) to experimental data using appropriate software (Excel, ChemStat and SPSS).

  • Retrieve, analyse and synthesise data and information, with the use of necessary technologies
Course Content (Syllabus)
Elements of probability theory. Introduction to statistical Samples, distributions, descriptive statistics, evaluative, statistical tests. Applications presentation and analysis of experimental data: Graphical presentation of data, the method of least squares, confidence intervals values, error assessment, data correlation. Application of Excel and the SPSS to analyze and evaluate data.
