Learning Outcomes
Αfter completing the course, students will be able to understand the basic concepts of pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics, as well as the mechanisms of action, clinical relevance, indications, efficacy, contra-indications, adverse reactions, drug-drug interactions, and toxicity of drugs affecting the cardiovascular, pulmonary, endocrine, urogenital, musculoskeletal, gastrointestinal, immune, and central nervous systems, as well as chemotherapeutics, anti-inflammatory drugs, vitamins, trace elements and antidotes, in humans.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course is taught in a total of five semesters (6th - 10th) and its 5 ECTS are distributed equally in each semester (1 ECTS/ semester), but there is one single final grade, calculated at the end of the 10th semester. The material taught in each semester corresponds to the content of the clinical courses taught in that same semester, in the context of the integrated nature of the clinical courses. In short: Pharmacology of disorders of the sensory organs, the cardiovascular system, the respiratory system, the central nervous system, the gastrointestinal system, the musculoskeletal system, and the urinogenital system. Chemotherapeutic agents for bacterial, viral, fungal and parasitic infections. Cancer chemotherapeutics. Immunomodulatory drugs. Toxins/poisons.

Student Assessment
Basic understanding of the material taught is evaluated throughout the course by short answer questions, problem solving questions and short presentations. Final evaluation and grading takes place following completion of lectures, through multiple answer questions, as described in the curriculum.
