Description
The presentations of the Diploma Thesis are, in general, made with the usage of PowerPoint slides. Quite often, especially when the Diploma Thesis has been elaborated in an organization outside the Department (either in Greece or abroad), in the examination committee may participate a member outside the department. In these case and in all other cases where special circumstances occur the Diploma Theses presentations may take place with the usage of teleconference tools.
Student Assessment
Description
The Diploma Thesis examination takes place three times per academic year approximately 1-2 weeks before the Diploma award ceremony. Presentation is permitted only to students that have completed with success all other obligations of the program. During each examination period the Department sectors inform the secretariat about the D-Theses to be presented. Consequently a presentation program is constructed that is published in the site of the Department. The total time for each D-Thesis is 30 minutes (~20 minutes for the presentations and ~10 minutes for questions by the examination committee). All Diploma Theses of the department are included and presented within this program. Examination may also take place at other dates after documented request of the student and agreement of the supervisor, the examination committee and the department chairman. The examination is being conducted by the examination committee composed of three members. The members of the committee must access the Diploma Thesis in electronic or hard-copy form (depending on their preference) at least seven days before the examination date.
