Learning Outcomes
The students after taking and passing succesfully this course: 1. would be able to identify these floral crops 2. could propagate them successfully 3. could understand their vegetative growth and the process of flowering 4. could overcome the various biotic and abiotic problems of these plants 5. could apply their knowledge in managing the commercial production of these floral crops.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Biological characteristics and cultivation techniques on a commercial basis of foliage plants, flowering pot plants and minor flowering crops. It covers, for each plant species, topics like propagation, irrigation, fertilization, environmental requirements, protection from pests and diseases, physiological disorders, postharvest handling, packaging . Emphasis is given on foliage plants, flowering pot plants (anthurium, gloxinia, cineraria, saintpaulia, hydrangea, begonia, kalanchoe, primula, pelargonium, etc.) and some minor cut flowers. Also, presented possible uses of plants in the interior design of buildings, offices, apartments etc.
