Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, students will be able to: - Have knowledge and ability to understand issues in the academic field of Internet law - Use their knowledge and their ability to comprehend in practice , and to reinforce skills that have to be proven by developing and supporting arguments and solve practical problems in the field of Internet law - Provide accurate information on Internet law issues and propose practical solutions to legal problems - To have acquired those skills to further knowledge, which is necessary to proceed to postgraduate studies.

Course Content (Syllabus)
I. Introduction: technical aspects, terms and legal basis II. Freedom of communication and expression, online publications III. Violation of privacy, right to the image. IV. Domains. Acquisition of a Domain, legal nature of the domain, domain disputes, procedural questions. V. Protection of websites: copyright, trademark, unfair competition, etc. VI. Infringing Content: trademark use, adwords, metatags VII. Use of copyright content, esp. Hyperlinks, thumbnails, Google Book Search VIII. Unfair competition IX. Distance selling X. Privacy issues XI. Liability issues, perpetrators liability, vicarious liability, liability for breach of duty to care XII. Contract Law: Electronic declaration of intent, formation of online contracts, conclusion on Internet auctions etc. XIII. Contracts for Internet services: web design contracts, provider contracts, agreements domain, ASP contracts and cloud computing, advertising contracts, ASP, etc. XIV. Applicable law and procedural issues. Vorlesung: Internetrecht Inhalt: Die Vorlesung gibt einen Überblick über die wesentlichen rechtlichen Aspekte im Zusammenhang mit dem Internet. Es folgt die Gliederung der Veranstaltung: I. Einleitung: technische Aspekte, Begriffe und Rechtsgrundlagen. II. Kommunikations- und Äußerungsfreiheit, Online-Publikationen. III. Verletzung der Privatsphäre, Recht auf das Bild. IV. Domainnamen. Erwerb einer Domain, Rechtsnatur der Domain, Domainstreitigkeiten, Verfahrensfragen. V. Schutz von Webseiten: urheberrechtliche, markenrechtliche und wettbewerbsrechtliche Aspekte. VI. Verletzende Inhalte: Markennutzung, Adwords, Metatags. VII. Urheberrechtliche Fragen, Hyperlinks, Thumbnails, und Google Buchsuche VIII. Unlauterer Wettbewerb IX. Fernabsatz X. Datenschutzrechtliche Fragen. XI. Haftungsfragen, Täterhaftung, Haftung für fremdes Verschulden, Haftung für Pflichtverletzung XII. Vertragsrecht: Die elektronische Willenserklärung, Online-Verträgen, Internet-Auktionen usw. XIII. Verträge für Internetdienste: Web-Design-Verträge, Provider-Verträgen, Domainnamen Verträge, ASP- und Cloud Computing-Verträge, Werbeverträge usw. XIV. Anwendbares Recht und prozessuale Fragen.
