There are no prerequisites for this course. However, students who will choose this course, are strongly invited to possess a good knowledge of Administrative Law (from the domestic law courses) and EU Law (from the international law courses).

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course addresses the following energy issues:
1) The fundamentals of Energy: resources, products, markets, actors and rules.
2) Exploration, Extraction and Production of Hydrocarbons
3) Transportation of Energy Resources – Crossborder Energy Networks
4) Licensing and Procurement in the Energy Sector
5) Design, Construction, Operation and Maintenance of Energy Infrastructure
6) Energy and Environment: Environmental and Social Impact Assessment, Environmental Liability, Energy Efficiency and Climate Change
7) Investments in the Energy sector: Assessment of investment projects, Financing, FDI and Settlement of disputes
8) Trade in Energy: public regulation, commercial transactions, trade finance and commodities markets
9) Oil and Oil Products: Refining and distribution of oil products – Security of Energy Supply
10) The electricity market
11) The Natural Gas Market
12) Renewable Energy Resources
