Course Content (Syllabus)
Public International Law II (Special Part) focuses on the international protection of human rights. It provides for an introduction of the general theory of human rights and examines the dialectics between public international law and human rights, taking the United Nations and particularly the Universal Declaration of Human Rights as a starting point. The course’s main focus is the institutional and conventional framework for the protection of human rights in the United Nations system, and the contribution of the international judicial organs and quasi-judicial organs on the international and regional level. Finally, fundamental rights and freedoms, as well as rules and institutions are thoroughly analyzed, in order to provide for a comprehensive knowledge on the field of international protection of human rights.

Description
