Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course the students will: - fully comprehend the basic concepts and principles of Property Law, their function and their application on practical cases - be able to develop arguments and resolve legal cases on issues concerning the materials covered in the course.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Property Law (concept, contents, sources, fundamental principles). Property rights (concept, legal nature, distinctions,acquisition,loss and protection of property rights). Juridical acts in property law. Things (concept, distinctions, components and accessories,fruits, benefits and duties). Detention and possession (concept, types, legal nature, acquisition, preservation, exercise, loss, protection). Ownership (concept, legal nature, distinctions, content, restrictions, acquisition, loss, protection). Special types of ownership. Servitudes (real servitudes, personal servitudes: usufruct, habitation and limited personal servitudes). Real security rights (pledge, mortgage, prenotice of mortgage).

The performance of students is assessed by means of written exams, which take place at the end of each semester. Oral presentations and case-notes written by the students are also taken into consideration.
