Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course the students will: - fully comprehend basic concepts of Civil Law, such as the 'person' and the 'right', which are regulated in the first book of the Greek Civil Code. This knowledge is fundamental for the further legal education of the students - be able to develop arguments and resolve legal cases on issues concerning the materials covered in the course.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The right (concept, distinctions, claim, defendant's plea, acquisition and loss of a right, use and abuse of a right, conflict of rights, protection of rights). Natural persons (properties and status of natural persons, beginning and end of natural persons, capacity for concluding juridical acts and legal capacity, protection of personality, liability and culpability). Legal persons (concept, categories, administration, juridical acts of legal persons, liability of legal persons, end of legal persons, the association, the foundation, the fund raising committee). Time (importance, determination and calculation, terms, prescription and terms of extinction).

The performance of students is assessed at examinations that take place at the end of each semester. Oral presentations and case-notes written by the students are also taken into consideration.
