Learning Outcomes
At the end of the course, the student will be able to design exercise programmes in the general population, for the improvement of functional capacity, promotion of health and prevention of chronic disease. In addition, the student will be able to design modified exercise programmes for individuals with obesity, pregnant women or women with gestational diabetes.

1. Physical fitness and health related exercise programs 2. Cardiorespiratory fitness assessment in the general population 3. Musculoskeletal exercise prescription in the general population 4. Flexilibility assessment and training 6. Exercise for the obese individual (metabolic alterations and differences in physiological adaptations in obesity) 7. Exercise for the obese individual (desinging exercise programms for obese individuals) 8. Blood pressure control during exercise in health and disease - Exercise programms for the prevention of hypertension 9. Exercise and physical fitness programs for the pregnant woman 10. Exercise prescription for the pregnant woman with gestational diabetes 11. Exercise prescription case studies I - students' presentations 12. Student Assessment
Description
The final grade in the course is based on the grades achieved (i) in the final examination (80%) and (ii) the paper/presentations (20%). The examination consists partly of multiple choice questions and partly on short-answer questions. Detailed instructions are given to the students at the beginning of the semester in the course outline and in the Depertmrnt's Assignment Manual. Students must achieve at least 50 per cent on the final examination in order to pass the course. During the semester students are able to self-evaluate their understanding on the course material by taking short quizzes.
