Learning Outcomes
To provide students with the necessary knowledge to understand the issues and challenges of companies transition to the New Economy. To understand the structure and capabilities of modern web sites, and the methods and procedures for their management and support. To understand the use of websites as a tool to improve efficiency of operations in various parts of an organization. To be able to participate in the requirements analysis and design of a website that will provide a competitive advantage to the organization. The students will be able to use their knowledge to design and organize enterprise level Web applications of a company as well as Web applications for the optimization of the relationships with its trading partners.
Course Content (Syllabus)
Overview of e-commerce, e-marketplaces: mechanisms, tools and implications of e-commerce, retail sales in electronic commerce: products and services, business to business e-commerce, electronic supply chains, collaborative commerce and corporate portals, e-commerce innovative systems for electronic government and e-learning, consumer to consumer, mobile computing - pervasive computing and e-commerce, Web 2.0 environment and social networks.
