Learning Outcomes
The aim of this course is to give the students the opportunity to learn basic concepts of dancetherapy through both applied and theoretical processing. In addition it aims to deem the students able to understand themselves better and gain greater ability to interpret not only their own behavior but their surroundings as well. Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: • know the basic theoretical bases of dance therapy and its practice • focus and understand better their feelings • to observe more carefully and to understand better the behaviors of their "environment".

Course Content (Syllabus)
- Formulation of objectives, techniques and teaching procedures of the course / first acquaintance of the "group" through a practice of recognizing emotions - Basic concepts and principles of dance therapy. - The theoretical background and practice of Trudi Schoop (one of the first dance therapists) - Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Schoop (1st lesson) - Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Schoop (2nd lesson) - The theoretical background and practice of Liljan Espenak (one of the first dance therapists) - Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Espenak (1st lesson) - Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Espenak (2nd lesson) - System analysis and movement interpretation by Rudolf von Laban - Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Laban (1st lesson) - Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Laban (2nd lesson) - Practice of dance therapy according to the model of Laban (3rd lesson) - Improvisation and its role in the practice of dance therapy
