Prerequisites
General Prerequisites
Basic knowledge in atmospheric physics and air pollution will help students participate more activelly in the course
Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will (a) understand the full life cycle of environmental - atmospheric data": from "producing them" (measurements, observations, Internet of Things - sensors, models) to their "consumption" (information services, decision making etc.) (b) have knowledge of the basic technologies and limitations of air quality microsensors for gaseous pollutants and particulates (c) have acquired basic knowledge on the configuration and operation of a network of AQ microsensors in the IoT (d) can perform basic data analysis and modeling with a view to extracting basic knowledge and supporting quality of life services (e) are familiar with the basic design and operation features of environmental information services - quality of life with emphasis in the ambient environment (indicative fields of application: air quality, urban climate, aeroallergens)
