Learning Outcomes
• Acquisition of basic knowedge on the european literature history and evolution
• Familiarization with the eminent authors of the western literary canon
• Capacity to distinguish different currents, tendencies and movements of the european literature tradition

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course examines the origins of the different European literatures, their interaction, the basic phases of their evolution, their particularities, as well as their essential contribution to the formation of the European spirit. Along with the studied texts, we will focus on the study of borrowing, transaction, analogy, mimesis and conversions in the field of European literary production.
Method of assessment: a. an oral presentation on a selected topic, and b. an oral exam at the end of the semester (coefficient: 2)
