Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the course students will be aware of (a) the fundamental obligations of professionals in the field towards dependents, such as the obligation of confidentiality, (b) the fundamental obligations towards the state, such as the obligation to keep records and to respect the personal data, the obligation to testify as witnesses in criminal trials in Greece and Cyprus, (c) the consequences that exist if they do not comply with their obligations, (d) corresponding models of other countries self-commitment of professionals working in detoxification structures, such as KETHEA.
Course Content (Syllabus)
This course will teach the Code of Ethics of the specialist scientist in the field of addictions as well as the possibilities and limits of therapeutic and preventive intervention. Codes of conduct applicable in other countries, civil and administrative sanctions in case of breach of its obligations, and finally the criminal consequences it may face will be presented.
It is also planned to present the code of ethics that governs the relationships and behavior of professionals and members in the treatment of KETHEA, adopting the code of ethics of the World Federation of Therapeutic Communities (WFTC) and its importance in good decision making and good governance in an organization treatment.
