Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of this course, students should be able to: (Knowledge) -Name and analyze the basic structural components that characterize education. -Identify the content of key aspects concerning Orthodox theological anthropology (Skills) -Develop perspectives for dialogue and encounter between Education Sciences and Theology, taking into considerations the questions and concerns raised by the Philosophy of Education and orthodox theological anthropology -Utilize aspects of the dialogue between Education Sciences and Theology when writing a teaching scenario for Religious Course (Competences) -Be aware of the fact that between Education Sciences and Theology there are concerns of common interest -Value and approach critically the importance for Religious Education, which emerges based on the relationship between Education Sciences and Theology

Course Content (Syllabus)
Basic aim of the course is to explore and highlight certain dimensions of common interest developed in the sciences of Education and Theology. Taking this perspective as a point of departure, a dialogue is being attempted between the two sciences, emphasizing issues relating to the prospects of human existence, and the meaning of the education task as well. In particular, the following aspects are examined: -The specific characteristics of the pedagogical process -Freedom and self-determination of man as fundamental concepts of the pedagogical process -The Freedom of man as a fundamental axis of the Christian ethos - Relations between education and religion - Philosophy of education and orthodox theological anthropology - The importance of the concept of formation in relation to the modern challenges facing the school educational reality
