Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students will be able to: -understand exercise-induced biological adaptations and underlying biological mechanisms to maximize human performance -recognize the synthetic analysis and interdisciplinary approach of exercise biology -highlight the dialectical relationship between the biological sciences of exercise (molecular biology, biochemistry, biophysics, physiology, nutrition, statistics) -develop a critical attitude towards current issues of exercise biology, for example the limits of biological information derived from blood tests -design/evaluate studies, measurements and experimental protocols to address research questions and hypotheses in the exercise biological sciences

-Scientific view of exercise biology - Epistemological issues in the production of biological data -Statistical and theoretical biology of exercise -From the molecule in the body -Blood, tissues and organs -Communication between blood, tissues and organs -Government of the organization -Exercise biology of exercise -Mornal biology of exercise -Comparative Biology of Exercise (Contrasting Analysis of Human Biology with Other Species) -Experimental models in exercise biology -Systemic biology of exercise -Signaling paths and control of responses and adaptations to external stimuli -Example of a holistic approach: exercise muscle wounding
