Course Content (Syllabus)
History of air pollution. Definition, sources, sinks, lifetime, scale analysis of air pollution problems. Unpolluted and polluted atmosphere.Gases and aerosols. Primary and secondary pollutants. Biogeochemical cycles.Diffusion and dispersion. Links between meteorology and air pollution. Chemistry of the atmosphere and air pollution. Global scale impacts of air pollution on earth (ozone hole, greenhouse warming). Measurement techniques for air pollutants. Emissions of air pollutants.
