Course Content (Syllabus)
the course examines a popular and commercially successful literary genre, namely fantasy literature, written in the English language. By studying and critically analyzing selected novels by American writers the course aims to illuminate the distinct elements and tropes which differentiate fantasy literature from the other categories of the literature of the fantastic. It aims to familiarize students with major authors of the genre and to help them appreciate fantasy narratives as serious works of art.
