Learning Outcomes
After the successful completion of the course the students will:
- comprehend basic concepts of Family Law, their function and their application on practical cases
- be able to develop arguments and resolve legal cases on issues concerning the materials covered in the course.

Course Content (Syllabus)
General Introduction to Family Law, the basic characteristice of damily law and of family law rights. The engagement. The marriage (The conclusion of marriage, positive requirements and impedements, the defective marriage, the annulment of marriage and its consequences). Personal and property relations of the spouses during marriage, personal and property relations of the spouses during separation, divorce (contested divorce, divorce by mutual consent) and the results of divorce. Relationship between parents and children: Establishment of paternal and maternal descent, medically assisted human reproduction, parental care, adoption. Legal obligation for maintenance. Tutelage of minors and adult protection regimes ("judicial assistance").

Student Assessment
Description
The performance of students is assessed by means of written exams, which take place at the end of each semester. Oral presentations and case-notes written by the students are also taken into consideration.
