Learning Outcomes
The course has two objectives: 1) It opens a horizon of extroversion to the students on a subject of international content, with specific perspectives of deepening on postgraduate or research level as well as professional level in Greece or abroad, 2) The students get familiar with the characterization of facts or situations with international features and their subsumption under international rules of law. The course allows students to specific the scope of the legal tools they use and the interactivity of sources of law that regulate a certain relation or situation with international features.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The course examines the subject-matter, the subjects and the sources of International Economic Law. In the main part, the course focuses on foreign direct investments. The concept of foreign direct investment and the sources of law that regulate foreign direct investments are examined. The course deals with the legal framework of promotion and protection of foreign investments emphasizing the dangers that a foreign direct investment faces in the host state and the standards of treatment of foreign direct investments in the host state. Finally, the course focuses on the ways of dispute resolution between investors and host state, with emphasis in international arbitration.
