Learning Outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, students are expected:
1. To realize the importance and the targets of teaching the Ancient Greek Language and Literature.
2. To have studied international trends in language education and modern approaches in teaching practices based on philological and pedagogical science.
3. To be able to examine in detail the theoretical foundation of the principles and directions regarding the contemporary teaching methodology of classical languages.
4. To have full theoretical and practical cognitive training, in order to respond effectively to the teaching of the subject of Ancient Greek in Secondary Education.
Course Content (Syllabus)
The course focuses on theoretical and practical issues related to the teaching of Ancient Greek Language and Literature in Secondary Education. Emphasis is placed on the analysis of international trends in language education and on modern philological and pedagogical approaches to the teaching of classical languages. Students attend classes and teach courses of Ancient Greek Language in high schools.
