Course Content (Syllabus)
The Greek state's minority educational policy followed to a certain extent the development of Greek nationalism and the geographical expansion of its borders. A breakthrough was the integration of the so-called New Countries into the State. The increase in the number of heterogeneous and minority populations in general has had a direct effect on the development of policies for the educational management of these populations. National, linguistic and cultural homogenization and assimilation are key issues. However, along with the assimilation, which was proposed for xenophobic and not only fluctuating populations, other minority policies were adapted to the demands and obligations of the state. This course examines this process from the interwar period to the present day.
