Learning Outcomes
At the end of the semester, the student:
1. It can interpret the interdependent relationship between Mysteries and spiritual life.
2. He will know the content and the basic theological positions of Nicholas Kavasila, as it is expressed in his work "On the Life of Christ".
3. Can explain the positions of the Greek Fathers on the frequency and conditions for participation in the Divine Eucharist.
4. Will be able to develop Orthodox Christian teaching about the value and importance of fasting and morality for the spiritual life of believers.

Course Content (Syllabus)
The relationship of worship and spirituality, mysteries as the axis of spiritual life, prayer, the times and the meaning of fasting and other similar issues will be examined during the semester.
1. Introduction to the lesson: Institution and charisma in Orthodox tradition
2. The mystery of Baptism as the foundation of spiritual life
3. The stages of spiritual finishing: purification-illumination-theosis
4. The relationship of common worship and private prayer
5. The New Prayer: Philology and hesychastic theology
6. About the life of Christ in Nicholas Kavasila
7. Aspects of the mystery of repentance and holy confession
8. Frequency and conditions of participation in the Eucharist A: the patristic teaching of the Byzantine period
9. Frequency and conditions of participation in the divine Eucharist B: The Collieva fathers
10. Ascetic tradition and functional testimony
11. The value and importance of fasting and temperance for the exercise of the faithful
12. Divine worship and spiritual life in the teaching of the modern Fathers of the Church
