Learning Outcomes
The students will be capable to describe and analyze the theological teaching of the Fathers of that period. They will be able to solve the various literatural and theological issues related to the teaching of the above fathers, especially after the preoccupation with their writings. Furthermore, they will be able to connect that knowledge of the patristic theology with the task.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Teaching of particular subjects as encountered in the period under consideration. They are explained and analyzed main theological issues that arose during this period, and are presented positions of the Fathers always in relation to emerging issues. 1. The theological terminology and teaching of Cyril of Alexandria and Monophysitism. 2. The theological terminology of Proclus of Constantinople and Chalcedon. 3. Theodoret of Cyrus and monophysites. 4. a)Dioscorus of Alexandria. b)Attendance of the scientific colloquium of the P.P.S. of the School, the “Exegeticum-Seminar of Orthodox Hermeneutical Theology”. 5. Tome of Leo. 6. Leontius of Byzantium. Theology and Literature. 7. Afthartodokites and agnoites. 8. a)Anastasioi Sinaites. b)Attendance of the scientific colloquium of the P.P.S. of the School, the “Exegeticum-Seminar of Orthodox Hermeneutical Theology”. 9. Areopagitan writings. 10. John philoponus. 11. Justinian and colleagues.
