Learning Outcomes
Students would be expected to get familiar with the literary genre of epigram and its conventions. They would be trained in the linguistic analysis, tanslation and commentary on these texts in order to understand basic aspects of the style and function of the medieval epigram.

Course Content (Syllabus)
Introduction to Greek epigram. Study (linguistic analysis - translation - commentary) of selected epigrams written by representative Byzantine poets dating from the 7th to the 15th centuries.
